This series will provide educational experiences focusing on Germany’s approach and success in areas including culture and society, Climate Smart municipalities, sustainable building practices, and earth friendly initiatives.

Amanda Brednar, environmental coordinator for Elk River, will talk about the Climate Smart Municipalities program, which pairs a Minnesota city with a German sister city. 
Elk River is paired with Iserlohn in North Rhine-Westphalia. Free

Building a Sustainable Home
Melissa Rappaport Schifman, author of Building a Sustainable Home: Practical Green Design Choices for Your Health, Wealth and Soul, will talk about building her own sustainable home and Kathryn and Chris Johnson, along with builder and certified Passive House consultant Ryan Stegora, will share their experience building a certified Passive House. Includes the opportunity to tour Sweet Tree Passive House in Minnetonka on March 16. Free
