GAI Language student wins trip to Germany

Meet Kruthica, a former GAI language student. She just completed her freshman year at Minnetonka HS and recently scored in the 99th percentile on the National German Exam. Following oral interviews, Kruthica was selected for the American Association of Teachers of German (AATG) Study Trip Award—an all-expense paid trip to Germany! We spoke with Kruthica recently, and she told us she never thought she would be speaking German at this level. “Learning a new language seems daunting at first,” said Kruthica, “but once you get into it, it’s easier than you would think.” (She also speaks several other languages fluently.) When asked what advice she would give to someone who is just starting out learning a new language, or maybe is on the fence about it, Kruthica said “don’t be afraid to get things wrong, to make mistakes.” What great advice!
