There is never a dull moment at Deutsche Tage. From music to cultural demonstrations, from crafts to games & contests, there is something for everyone at Deutsche Tage. You can plan your weekend by reading the descriptions of our activities available all weekend long or by following the links in the toolbar below for specific interests.

Activities Available All Weekend 

Music on the Main Stage

When: Saturday, 11am-10pm, Sunday, 11am-5pm
Where: On the Grounds - Main Stage

Stop by the Main Stage to hear various German performers, as well as a Balkan Ensemble! There are also additional performances to see, such as Puppentheater (Puppet Theater) and dancers! Come to both days of Deutsche Tage to see different acts each time!

Culture Demonstrations and Talks

When: Saturday, 12pm-5pm, Sunday, 12pm-4pm
Where: On the Grounds - DemoStage

Stop by the Cultural Stage to view some fair-style demonstrations of various German crafts, foods, and past times. Come to both days of Deutsche Tage to see different demos each time!

Viennese Kaffeehaus

When: 1pm-5pm, Saturday and Sunday
Where: In the GAI Haus

Treat yourself to the elegant and subtle art of Viennese-style coffee. Both afternoons this weekend, our dining rooms will be transformed into an authentic Viennese Kaffeehaus. Sip on a Kaffee Maria Theresia while reading a Zeitung auf Deutsch or enjoy a slice of Kuchen provided by the GAI's Deutscher Damenklub. Both cold and hot coffee drinks will be available for purchase.

Exhibit: History of Deutsche Tage

When: All Day
Where: In the GAI Haus and the Celebration Tent

Celebrate the 60 year anniversary of Deutsche Tage by viewing the projects from people who have participated throughout it's entire history. The exhibit commemorates and shows their involvement in Deutsche Tage over the last 60 years.  

Family Fun Carnival

When: All weekend
Where: On the Grounds

While you sip Bier on the shady lawn, let the kids burn off some energy. They can climb around on a Safari Jungle (complete with elephant, lion, and giraffe!) or bounce around in a classic Bounce House. Check out day-specific activities below for fun kid-friendly events each day! Saturday is Puppentheater (puppet theater) themed and Sunday is Train Day!

Spaghetti Eis

When: 1pm-5pm, Saturday and Sunday
Where: On the GAI Grounds

Treat yourself to the fun and delicious Spaghetti Eis! Both afternoons this weekend, we will be churning out this entertaining treat, which is vanilla ice cream made to look like spaghetti, topped with strawberry sauce to complete the look!

Special Game & Fundraiser: Nails and Ales 

When: All weekend
Where: On the Grounds

Supplied by our Local 21 Firefighters, play this classic game for only $2 a hit, with all proceeds donated to the GAI. 
To play the game, you try to drive a nail into a stump with a single swing, using the wedge end of a hammer. Take a turn, then pass the hammer. The first person to sink the nail wins!

BMW Motorcycle Club

When: All weekend
Where: On the Grounds (in front of Haus)

View these expertly maintained, German-made motorcycles and chat with BMW Motorcycle Club members.
