About Deutsche Tage, 60 Years, and Celebration Boards
About Deutsche Tage
Deutsche Tage - which translates to 'German Days' - is one of the Germanic-American Institute's longest standing traditions. It is in fact, the oldest ethnic festival in St. Paul. Originally produced by the GAI's predecessor organization, the Volksfest Association, for the past 59 years Deutsche Tage has been the St. Paul gathering for MN Germans and lovers of Germanic culture to celebrate through German music, food, and drink. Now in our 59th year, Deutsche Tage continues to connect us to our roots, educate new generations on our traditions, and bring joy to the community.
Deutsche Tage Celebration Boards
We encourage our GAI members to put together a “Celebration Board.” This board will commemorate and show their involvement in Deutsche Tage over the last 60 years. This will give the GAI community a chance to participate and celebrate in the history of the event. As one of the highlights, a “celebration tent” showcasing all of the “Celebration Boards” will be set-up for viewing during the event. An in haus exhibit will take place as well.
Be as creative as you would like to be!
Please contact Linda DeRoode if you have any further questions.
