Tutoring & Individualized Instruction

General Info

Tutoring and private instruction may be arranged with GAI instructors. Lessons and curriculum are tailored to the individual needs of the client to meet specific language goals. One lesson may be shared by up to 3 people at no additional cost. All of our tutors are teachers with extensive training and experience in teaching German as a foreign language.

Tutoring may take place at the Germanic-American Institute or at another location that is mutually agreeable to the client and tutor. Meeting time may vary and is decided on a per lesson basis between the tutor and client.

Rates & Payment

Client may decide on the length of lessons. For tutoring of a long-term nature, lessons are to be paid for in blocks of 5. Lessons must be pre-paid by cash, MC/Visa, or check made out to the GAI. The cost per lesson is based on the following rates:

• 45 minutes: $40
• 60 minutes: $50
• 90 minutes: $75

Trip Fee

For tutoring not conducted at the GAI, there may be a trip fee added to the price to reimburse the tutor for the extra mileage and time spent traveling to the requested location. This fee will be negotiated between the client and the Director of Language Services, based on the number of miles the tutor must commute.

Client Satisfaction

Our goal is for the client to be 100% satisfied with his/her tutoring. At any point, the client may contact
Language Services to request a different tutor.
